Welborne Garden Village is a development of 6,000 beautiful homes with accessible green spaces, sustainable energy, nurseries, schools, shops, leisure facility and technology park.

In relation to the new village centre, comprehensive energy and sustainability advice was provided. This area of the development encompasses a diverse range of commercial units, including a hotel, pub, restaurants, a bakery, and a doctor's surgery. Additionally, the village centre will offer a mix of residential options, comprising both houses and apartments. The sustainability consultancy ensured that these components were designed with environmental considerations in mind, promoting energy efficiency, resource conservation, and a high quality of life for future residents.

A key element of the Energy Strategy is the water source heat pump system, which is the largest of its kind in the UK. This network extracts water from Portsmouth Water's underground Hoads Hill Reservoir, offering significantly greater efficiency compared to air source heat pumps due to the reservoir's more stable and higher average temperature.
